Cinnamon Pita Crisps


‘Naughty’ and nice – whole wheat pitas and a teaspoon each of butter and sugar. These remind me a little of Panera’s Cinnamon Crunch bagel. 

Preheat the oven to 350. Melt one pat (about a third of a tablespoon) of butter. I had butter left over because pitas are not absorbent. Use one teaspoon of sugar to mix cinnamon sugar. I used 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, but use the ratio you like.

Cut a whole wheat pita or flatbread into quarters. Dredge each quarter in butter, removing excess, and then press into the cinnamon sugar to coat. Bake at 350 for about ten minutes.

For easier clean up, make sure to scrub the baking sheet as soon as you remove the toasts, or to line it with parchment paper.
