PB & Baked Apple Sandwich

More nutritious alternative to PB&J, a thin crust of caramelized sugar over warm and cinnamon-scented baked apples outshines any jelly.

Preheat oven to 350. Thinly slice a small apple. Sprinkle the apple slices and both slices of a sandwich thin with cinnamon. I sliced a pita in half for this picture because I did not have sandwich thins. Stack the sandwich thins with the sliced apples on top and sprinkle one teaspoon of sugar over the apples, then bake at 350 for ten minutes. Turn on the broiler and broil until the sugar bubbles and caramelizes. Let cool a few minutes before spreading peanut butter on the bare slice of bread. I recommend Smuckers Natural peanut butter.
